Let dry bones live again

2 Mins read

Scripture: Ezekiel 37:1-5

The Lord took hold of me, and I was carried away by the Spirit of the Lord to a valley filled with bones. 2 He led me all around among the bones that covered the valley floor. They were scattered everywhere across the ground and were completely dried out.3 Then he asked me, “Son of man, can these bones become living people again?”

“O Sovereign Lord,” I replied, “you alone know the answer to that.”

4 Then he said to me, “Speak a prophetic message to these bones and say, ‘Dry bones, listen to the word of the Lord! 5 This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Look! I am going to put breath into you and make you live again!

Many have problems and situations which might seem impossible and difficult. When God was speaking in the scripture to Ezekiel His first instruction to him was, prophesy to the dry bones. He was not told what to say. He was told to prophesy to the dry bones, meaning you should speak what you want to that seemingly dry situation. Every situation which is in your life must live again. Your blood might be contaminated but I speak new blood in the name of Jesus Christ. Dry bones live again in the name of Jesus Christ. Your marriage must live again.

Our Prophet Ezekiel was asked to preach to a valley of dry bones. In a lighter sense, we often say that Ezekiel was called to the worst congregation any preacher has ever faced, a congregation with no ears or eyes. However, it pictures something many believers face in their Christian experience – the “hopeless situation.” And, it teaches us that there is no such thing as a truly hopeless or impossible situation. God asked Ezekiel, “Son of man, can these bones live?” Ezekiel responded, “O Lord GOD, you know.” He answered that way because as far as he could see, the situation was plainly and desperately IMPOSSIBLE. And yet, in faith, he recognized that NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE WITH GOD. Today we are walking with Ezekiel along the valley through which we shall learn that nothing is impossible with God and there is no such thing as a hopeless situation. There are no hard cases with God and no problems are too big for God. There is also no situation He is surprised by because He is in complete control regardless of whether we can see that control or not.

A prophetic declaration stands despite one’s location. What is said will stand. I speak to your bank account, it must live again. The bones in the scripture were dry and had no source of life but God instructed that they be spoken to and they would live again. No matter how bad your situation might seem to be it must live again in the name of Jesus Christ. Your end is perfect in the name of Jesus Christ. When the word was spoken the dry bones started reconnecting and went back to life. I speak to those dry bones in the name of Jesus Christ. They must live again.

We give all glory to God. Mbiri kunaJesu.
